Because I love to make my paintings bright and sunny I enjoyed creating this piece, "Serenity in Pastel." I referenced older painting styles from the 1940's Art Deco era to create this scene in extra soft chalk pastel and also "A Day At The Lake." I love that period, but these paintings are a mix between the older look combined with my current painting style. I love this style for my home to match our Craftsman style furniture, also from that era.
